Best Of Wine Tourism Awards 2027
The 2027 Awards in South Australia are presented in partnership with DrinkWise, an independent, not-for-profit organisation that works with government, industry and community organisations to promote responsible alcohol consumption. The Awards recognise and showcase businesses delivering outstanding wine tourism experiences across South Australia.
South Australia's leading wine tourism experiences shortlisted
Eleven South Australian wineries and wine tourism businesses have been shortlisted for the prestigious 2027 Best Of Wine Tourism Awards, recognising innovation and excellence across the state’s world-class wine tourism sector.
The awards showcase outstanding wine tourism experiences and celebrate the people and businesses helping strengthen South Australia’s reputation as a world-class wine destination. The awards are made possible through Adelaide’s membership of the Great Wine Capitals Global Network.

The shortlist reflects the breadth of South Australia’s wine tourism offering, from memorable food and wine experiences to distinctive architecture, accommodation, culture, visitor services and innovative tourism experiences.

All shortlisted entries will be considered for the Sustainable Wine Tourism Practices Award.
Recognising excelence in wine tourism
The Best Of Wine Tourism Awards recognise businesses that are creating compelling reasons for visitors to discover South Australia’s wine regions. Being shortlisted provides businesses with local and international recognition, showcases what makes their visitor experience distinctive and places them alongside leading wine tourism operators from around the world.
The awards also connect South Australian operators with the Global Great Wine Capitals Network, supporting industry recognition, collaboration and opportunities to share the stories behind the state’s leading wine tourism experiences with global peers.
What happens next
The shortlisted entries will be assessed by an independent judging panel with category winners announced in front of industry peers on Thursday 17 September at the South Australian Wine Industry Dinner at Adelaide’s National Wine Centre.
South Australian category winners will then progress to the international Best Of Wine Tourism Awards during the Great Wine Capitals Global Network annual conference in Hawke’s Bay, New Zealand in October, where they will be benchmarked against leading wine regions from around the world.

The 2026 Best Of Wine Tourism Award winners for Adelaide, South Australia were:
- Accommodation – Mount Lofty House and Estate, Adelaide Hills
- Architecture and landscape – Vinteloper, Adelaide Hills
- Art and culture – Wonderground Barossa, Barossa
- Culinary experiences – Maxwell Wines, McLaren Vale
- Innovative wine tourism experiences – Bottle Shock, Adelaide Hills
- Wine tourism services – SA eBikes, McLaren Vale
- Sustainable wine tourism practices – Bottle Shock, Adelaide Hills
Maxwell Wines was also recognised on the world stage, with the McLaren Vale winery winning a 2026 Great Wine Capitals Global Best Of Wine Tourism Award for bringing three-hat dining to a cellar door setting. The Award was presented at the Great Wine Capitals Gala Dinner and Global Best Of Wine Tourism Awards Ceremony in Bordeaux, France in November 2025.
